Sonakshi Sinha revealed whether she was asked to convert to Islam before marrying Zaheer Iqbal: "They follow some traditions ..."

New Delhi:

Sonakshi Sinha recently talked to Zaheer Iqbal about her marriage and highlighted the rumors and speculation surrounding her marriage.

The couple’s decision to get married came under intensive public investigation, especially his father, experienced actor Shatrughan Sinha, and the absence of his brothers, love and Kush at the wedding. These factors questioned many people whether the Sinha family supported the Sangh.

In a recent interview with Hautharfly, Sonakshi addressed concerns, explaining that her father was as assistants as she could, she did not fry in the absence of her brothers. He also clarified that he never faced pressure to convert Zaheer’s family into Islam.

Sonakshi said that religion was never an issue for her and Zaheer. “Zaheer and I were really not paying attention to religion. We are two people who love each other and want to marry each other,” he explained. He said, “He did not apply his religion to me, and I am not implementing my religion on it. It was also not discussed.”

The actress shared how they both respect each other’s cultures. “We appreciate and understand each other’s cultures. They follow some traditions at their home, I follow some traditions at my home. They participate in my Diwali worship, and I participate in their rituals. And all this matters,” he said.

Sonakshi also highlighted the role of the Special Marriage Act in her union, stating that this was the best solution for her. “Under circumstances, the best way to get married was the special marriage act, where I do not need to change her religion, and she, as a Muslim man, can remain a Muslim man. It’s as simple as it is. I have never been asked, ‘Are you going to change?’ We love each other, and we are going to get married. “

Regarding online speculation and negativity, Sonakshi admitted that she and Zaheer chose to mute their Instagram comments, which was a pioneer to her marriage to avoid unnecessary stress. “On my big day, I am the left Dekhni Hi Nahi (I didn’t want to be near this nonsense),” he said.

Sonakshi and Zaheer married on 23 June last year. The couple dated for about seven years before exchanging the pledge of marriage.
