Suchitra Krishnamoorthy shared a picture with Cannes-winning actress Anasuya Sengupta in her latest Instagram post. In the picture shared, Suchitra can be seen wearing a white dress while the woman of the hour Anasuya is wearing a black suit. They can be seen posing for the cameras. Suchitra also shared a picture with daughter Kaveri. Suchitra wrote in the caption, “Congratulations @tphqltd and Anasuya Sengupta for winning the Best Actress Award at Cannes. Proud moment for India. And proud moment for my mom that @kaverikapur finally agreed to come to a party with me. Last week, Anasuya shared a series of pictures summarising her experience at the 77th edition of the prestigious film festival. An excerpt from her caption reads, “Outfit – Bought quickly from the flea market in Cannes before the awards, because that’s what I do.” She also mentioned choosing clothes from fashion designer Arjun Saluja’s brand Rishta. Talking about the pictures, in the first frame, the star is seen wearing a white outfit and some heavy gold jewellery. Next, she is seen posing with her co-star Omara and director Konstantin Bozhanov. The last picture shows Anasuya on stage, smiling and relishing her winning moment. Check out the post here:
Anasuya received the trophy in the Un Certain Regard segment for her role as Renuka in the film The Shameless, written and directed by Bulgarian filmmaker Konstantin Bozanov. Talking about her winning moment, Anasuya told Hindustan Times, “I couldn’t believe it was happening! But when I got on stage and stood with my actors who I have always admired, my heroes, I felt it was only natural to be greeted with such authenticity and love. I am so grateful to the jury for seeing my hard work.”
shameless Screened at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 17. The film revolves around Renuka (played by Anasuya Sengupta), who manages to escape from a brothel in Delhi after killing a police officer. Apart from Anasuya, the film stars Omara, Auroshikha Dey and Rohit Kokate in lead roles.
