The Amazon Prime Video announced on 17 September that its hit series, The Summer I Turn Preity, will conclude its story with a feature film directed by Jenny Han. The news came soon after the premiere of season 3 finale on streaming service.
Shorter Jenny Han and show’s star Lola Tung opened up a brief about the upcoming film at the Today show.

Shorter Jenny Han and Star Lola Tung, Christopher Brini and Gavin Kaslegano appeared in a virtual interview with the Today show on 18 September. Sawan Guthari said that although there was a wedding at the end of the third book in the novel Trilosi, one ended without season 3.
“Do we get married in the film?” He asked Jenny Han. “I can say that there is another big milestone for the stomach, so we will continue with that trip,” Jenny Han replied.
Asked that when we can expect the film to come out, Han said: “It’s still a little bit to say. But Sara Kusarka, my co-showerner, and I have prepared a draft, so we are walking together.”
“We don’t know when it is coming, but not next year. Still it has to be made,” he said.
Guthari also interacted with Lola Tung, who played the role of hero Bailey in the series. Asked what she can probably reveal about the upcoming film, Tung said: “I mean, not much.”
He said, “We know a little bit, but it is fun that it is finally in the world.”

Jenny Han’s partnership with prime video
After Prime Video supported the film, Jenny Han said it would “appropriate reason” to his series. In a statement, he “thanked Prime Video for this story to support my vision and make it possible to share this final chapter with fans.
Curtain Vellenti, head of Amazon MGM film, and prime video and global head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, Vernon Sanders opened his partnership with Jenny Han through a press release.
His statement said, “The summer I have done in summer, he has hit a raga with the audience everywhere, which creates moments of happiness, apathy and connection, which has made it a global sensation.”
He said that he was proud of the “extraordinary success” obtained by “The Summer I Turn Preity” and “could not be excited to the partner again with Jenny Han, fans to bring an unforgettable next chapter”
