Taylor Swift and Post Malone top the 2024 MTV VMAs

Taylor Swift and Post Malone are leading the nominations at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Both artists are enjoying the success of their collaboration film “Fortnite” from Swift’s latest album. Department of tortured poetsWhich has created a storm in the music world.

For the second year in a row, Swift dominated the VMA nominations with a total of 10 nominations. Her song “Fortnite” alone has earned eight nominations, including prestigious categories like Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction. She’s also in the running for Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Last year, Swift was a big winner at the VMAs, winning nine awards out of 11 nominations, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Anti-Hero.”

Malone isn’t far behind, earning nine nominations. Like Swift, Malone’s work on “Fortnite” earned him nods for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction. Malone’s collaboration with country star Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help,” which topped the Billboard charts, also earned a nomination for Best Collaboration.

Ariana Grande has also made a significant impact with six nominations. Her song “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” is nominated for Video of the Year, Best Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. Grande’s “The Boy Is Mine” is also nominated for Best Visual Effects, and is in the running for Artist of the Year.

Sabrina Carpenter’s amazing year continues with six VMA nominations. Carpenter is nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Her catchy track “Espresso” is nominated for Song of the Year and Best Editing, while the video for “Please Please Please” starring Barry Keoghan is nominated for Best Direction and Best Art Direction.

Eminem’s comeback single “Houdini” from the album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) The song has added six VMA nominations to its list of accolades. The song is nominated for Video of the Year, Best Direction, Best Editing, and Best Visual Effects. Eminem himself is nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Hip Hop.

Other notable artists with multiple nominations include Megan Thee Stallion, SZA, Lisa, Teddy Swims, Dua Lipa, Benson Boone, Anitta, Tyla and Gloriella.

This year, 29 artists have received nominations. Fans can visit the website until August 30 to vote in 15 gender-neutral categories, including Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and Artist of the Year.

Voting for Best New Artist will remain open until the Sept. 10 show, which will be held at the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York.
