From announcing new projects to showing glimpses of upcoming films at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel left no stone unturned to create excitement among the audience. Fantastic Four This was also officially revealed in this event. It will be called The Fantastic 4: The First Step,
According to DiversityA concept reel for the opening Fantastic Four The next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was unveiled to Hall H attendees after an introduction by director Matt Shakman, giving fans a taste of the space-age aesthetic that will be incorporated into the superhero feature.
“We’re creating a ’60s retro-future. Syd Mead was an inspiration. The ’60s to me are all about optimism,” Shakman told the audience, referencing the influential designer while elaborating on the film’s period setting. “I love the Fantastic Four. I love their power set. We want to stay true to the comics but we also want to stay true to life.”
Shakman then showed a video intended to give fans a taste of the superhero film. The footage had the tone of a newsreel, featuring moments such as Mister Fantastic speaking to a bored classroom under the banner of “Fantastic Science,” the superhero team’s flying Fantastic Car, space suits, rocket launches, and the Thing appearing as a mysterious contestant on a dating show. The video reportedly ends with the first glimpse of fan-favorite villain Galactus.
Many actors including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn attended the event. The film will be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
