There is no creative clash with Kamal Haasan, but Mani Ratnam warned others: ‘I will throw you F

The upcoming film Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan and directed by veteran Mani Ratnam, is one of the most eagerly awaited cooperation in Indian cinema. After decades, he has shook the immense expectation among fans – as his renovation -prestigious Nayakan.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter India recently, Mani Ratnam opened his creative process, working with Kamal Haasan, and why he refuses to be sweet even with age.

Mani Ratnam on working with actors: “Some people have to threaten you”

Speaking about whether he is cool on the set, an experienced filmmaker quipped, “Can’t let all of you be.

He emphasized that there is no one-set-all method to direct the actors: “Sometimes, you have to tell an actor that if the five-year-old child can work in an odd hours, do they not have a solution. But if you have a good actor, and what value they bring in, you work with it.”

Kamal Haasan: A condemnable artist who rely on vision

Ratnam praised Kamal Haasan for his adaptability and faith, remembering his earlier work together on the hero:

“Nevertheless, he always trusted me. If I say we go this way, he will go. He believes in you, and if he thinks you know what you are doing, he comes with you.”

On whether he displays scenes for actors, Ratnam was clear: “I don’t do it with anyone, not even a lotus. I don’t want to do it. I don’t want them to do what I am doing. A good actor can commit a crime if you show them how to act.”

Kamal Haasan: “Mani Ratnam has not made sweet”

In a separate interview with Through India, Kamal Haasan echoed the feeling that Ratnam’s passion was uncontrolled.

“He should not be sweet; he will dilute it. But he has slowed down to catch the people around him.”

The actor also shared a funny anecdote about Mani’s time ban: “In Tamil, the word ‘Mani’ for the time is ‘Mani’, and we have a joke where we call him ‘5:30 Mani Ratnam’, because the time is when he reaches the set. Poor cameraman will have to leave at least 5 at 4:30.”

‘Thug Life’ release date and expectations

Thug Life, which marks the return of one of the most prestigious doubles of Tamil cinema, is set to release on 5 June. The film has already discussed its complicated title, intensive poster and the powerhouse combination of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. Fans are eagerly waiting for them to wait for the magic that they will once again make together.
