Mumbai: From attending several acting workshops to cutting his hair short and following a strict diet to slim down, actor Gurmeet Choudhary did everything for his character in the new season of “Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen”.

To embody the intense and complex character, Gurmeet had to undergo rigorous preparation, losing 10 kg through a combination of strict diet and daily sprints.

Talking about the experience, Gurmeet shared, “Playing the character of Guru was both challenging and exhilarating. My director Siddharth Sengupta had a clear vision for the character, which required me to prepare extensively.

“I attended many acting workshops, cut my long hair short and followed a strict diet to get lean. To get the desired look, I used to go to Bandra for running every day and eventually lost 10 kilos.”



He added that “the entire process was incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful that Siddharth sir believed in me and saw an ideal mentor in me.”

“Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen” is a romantic crime thriller television series on Netflix, produced and directed by Siddharth Sengupta. The series also stars Shweta Tripathi and Aanchal Singh in lead roles, with Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Arunoday Singh and Brijendra Kala also playing supporting roles.




The season also sees the entry of Gurmeet Choudhary who is Purva’s friend and vows to bring her back home safely. It is a deadly game of survival, and with the powerful entry of Gurmeet Choudhary this season, the stakes have become even higher.

Gurmeet rose to fame playing the role of Ram in the 2009 television series Ramayan, opposite Debina Banerjee playing the role of Sita. After this he participated in the reality show Pati Patni Aur Woh with his then fiancee Debina.

The actor then worked in shows like “Geet-Hui Sabse Parai,” ‘Punarvivah”, “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”, “Nach Baliye 6,” “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (Season 5)”.

Gurmeet’s debut film in Bollywood was in 2015 when he was cast to play the role of Jaidev in the psychological thriller “Khamoshiyan”.
