Diljit waved the Indian flag

Dressed in black all night long, Diljit mesmerized Delhi with his powerful voice on Saturday evening. The singer finished his first song and took a few seconds to acknowledge that he was finally back in India to perform. He raised his hand above his head and waved the Indian flag, prompting loud cheers from the audience.

Then he said, “Yeh mera desh, mera ghar hai (This is my country, this is my home)!” The singer then thanked fans for being so sweet and kind and supporting his music for so many years.

Earlier, fans had become restless as the show did not start on time. Many fans became disappointed due to the humid conditions inside the venue. Hours before the show started, hundreds of fans lined up at the JLN Stadium to watch the singer sing some of his favorite tracks like Born to Shine, Goat, Lemonade, 5 Tara and Do You Know. However, the lights dimmed around 8 pm and Diljit made a grand entry, much to the relief of fans. Many of them took to their social media accounts to share their excitement of finally seeing their favorite singer live.

Diljit has been enthralling audiences in Europe and North America and is finally bringing the magic of Dil-luminati to India. The second show in Delhi will be held on October 27. After this the tour will go to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh and Guwahati.

On Friday evening, Diljit posted a video on Instagram of him reaching India and meeting fans. She captioned the post, “Dilli ka mausam kya keh raha hai (What is Delhi’s weather saying) Dil-Luminati Tour Saal 24.”
