Tributes paid by the film fraternity on the demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh

Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh died in New Delhi on Thursday after a prolonged illness. He was 92 years old.

His demise has left a huge void in Indian politics. The former Prime Minister, known for his calm demeanor and dignity despite fierce storms, was a highly respected figure in Indian politics. Singh was the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.

The Indian film industry expressed grief over his demise.

National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote on his RIPDrManmohan Singh.”

Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma wrote, “India has lost one of its finest leaders today. Dr. Manmohan Singh, the architect of India’s economic reforms and an icon of integrity and humility, leaves behind a legacy of progress and hope.” His intelligence, dedication, and vision changed our country. Rest in peace, Dr. Singh. Your contribution will never be forgotten.

Bhumi Pednekar shared a photo of the former Prime Minister and captioned it, “Dr. Manmohan Singh, a true visionary. His legacy will always inspire us. Om Shanti.”

Director Hansal Mehta wrote an emotional note, saying, “The country should apologize to him. More than anyone else, I apologize to him. Salman Khan, whose teaser release of his upcoming film Sikandar was scheduled to be released today, has postponed it, the production house has announced.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is survived by his wife and three daughters.

The Government of India has announced seven days of state mourning. The funeral of the former Prime Minister will take place tomorrow on 28th December.
