I walk in heels with the grace of a novice showman on the Stilts. I falter, there is a weakened follow gate, and eliminates itself against a table or wall for the rest of the evening. So when I stumble on Shweta’s heels dance choreography classes, it enhances my interest.

Can it help improve my posture? Armed with a pair of an inch stiltos, I descend into the studio. In comparison, Sveta’s stiltos looks like the Empire State Building. Smooth and four inches high. But the heel size does not matter, she smiles. “To start, being comfortable in your body is more important than heels,” she says. Through heels dance, Shweta also expects people to educate the body’s positivity.

We start class with some mindfulness exercises, followed by warm-up routine without heels. “These are to strengthen your ankles, so it is easy to transfer to heels. Dance in these shoes is physically permanent, so it is important to stretch, ”tells Shweta.

This is the time to slip in my formidable heels after 30 minutes. The movement flow is designed in such a way that the student does not overwhelm. She first takes me through the heel and ankle movement, followed by the waist and upper body and end. We try each section with music. The last section at first is a spot – my hands refuse to keep pace with my legs and proceed to an adequate wound clock -like doll like tomorrow’s doll. Shweta is a patient teacher and goes through the sequence repeatedly until there is a glimpse of coordination and cleverness.

This style of dance can be credited to dancers. Stripters, and Shogirl. In the last decade, heels have been raising as a popular dance form in the US, with icons such as Beyoncé and Britney Spears perform this style in their video.

In India, however, it is still in a new-native stage. At the age of 24, it is said, “When I began to teach dancing in 2023, a lot of places were not open to this style because anything sexy is often considered obscene or porn,” 24 -year -old says, he says that he is not to dance as a dance style and to have sexual relations as a dance style. For him, the dance has been a great way to express itself.

“Many people don’t want to talk about what they are feeling, they just sit with their feelings. When I moved from America to India in 2020, I was going through some personal problems that I could not express otherwise, but could do so through my dance, ”the dancer says that who was a figure skater and also trained in ballet and jazz.

Last year, Shweta sent a dance video of her to Dancers Club Studios and since she has been doing classes there. “Even though people were shy in the beginning when they joined this class, they slowly started opening and assured to their bodies,” she says. It is a sensual dance and helps with currency. The heel dancer, she says, has the upper strength of the body, flexible back, and too much liquidity.

His classes are open to all aged 16 and above. Most of them are in the age group of 20–30, and her oldest student is 50 years old. Although it is primarily women, they have also done some male students to participate in classrooms. But her priority is the comfort and safety of her female students. “So, if a man is scary, he is never allowed to go back to class,” she says.

Shweta’s heels dance classes also include how to walk, how to balance, with techniques of jazz, ballet and runway techniques of various forms. This is your base for a solid foundation in heels, she explains. “I also attract contemporary dance style, Voging, KuthuTamil cinematic styles, forged,

For her group classes, she usually sticks to the Tamil item songs. Some songs that he has choreographed in his classrooms, including ‘Ponmini Uruguha’, ‘T Pidik’, ‘Malai Malai,’ ‘Dolu Dolu’ … “I am very proud of Tamil culture and Tamil language. Right now Hindi or English is in the music and dance place. I want to represent the south. She smiles.
