Hans recalls delicate idea about interstellar music
Recalling how he came up with the idea for his creation for Interstellar, Hans revealed that Christopher never initially told him anything about the script. He told that the filmmaker will only send a letter in which he will mention a brief idea. “So this letter comes from this beautiful story of what it means to be a father,” Hans said. And yes, I spent the whole day writing and on Sunday night around 10 pm I called his house. His wife replied. I said, Emma, ’I’ve done it. Do you want me to send it?’ She said ‘Oh, Chris is waiting anxiously and he’s pacing up and down? Do you mind if he comes?”

He continued, “So he came over and he sat down on the couch. And I said, ‘Okay, I’ll play it for you.’ And I played him this delicate piece I wrote about my son, you know, and I said, ‘So what do you think?’ He said, ‘Oh, I’d better make a film.’ I asked ‘Which movie is it?’ And he started talking about space, and huge and epic and all this, then finally, I said, ‘Wait, wait I wrote this tiny, tiny thing, it’s this very delicate personal thing.’ And he says, ‘Yes, I know where the heart of the film is now.’
