The eighth edition of Whitefield Art Collective will begin at the end of this week at VR Bengaluru, Whitefield Main Road. This year, the month-long incident will feature the themed ‘Future Now’, more than 100 establishments as well as exhibitions, cooperations and more.
According to Sumi Gupta, curator of Whitefield Art Collective (WAC), the future is not a distant vision. Sumi says, “It is coming in front of us in real time. There has been a lot of innovation in technology with artificial intelligence, promoted reality, virtual reality, and much.
Sumi believes that art and creativity can be co-existed with technology. “When we first started using a computer, everyone was afraid that art would die because it could be made with the help of technology. But what happened that the original art remains forms and new expressions of art came. A full new style of art was created and we need to embrace it.”
“We need both art and technology to throw light on many subjects that are important for the future, it is stability or climate change, inclusion or identity or expression and freedom of speech. The art may be a catalyst to run and encourage conversion,” she says.

In a run-up for the festival, WAC presented five films for independence in collaboration with the British Council, LGBTQIA+-A curated selection of short films, which are appearing from 23 to 30 March. Films presented under five films for freedom are made by filmmakers worldwide, and are globally displayed as a set of five.
This year, an LGBTQIA+ activist Kalki Subramaniam has portrayed the art car, a major feature of the WAC, where its unveiling mark the opening of the event.
In addition to promoting inclusion, this version of WAC includes international collaboration with the choice of UNESCO, which will offer an exhibition called The Breaded River, using photos to demonstrate Indian women in science.
Another exhibition called Hey enhances the voices of neurodergant and different artists. Sumi says, “Photography is a powerful means by which a person can educate, encourage and open people’s eyes for different things,” WAC is about this convergence of technology and artistic expression that we all thought that will happen in the future, but really now is happening now. ,

While the journey of the collective is in a day -long journey, or even in several days, Sumi says it is difficult that the one who displays or the session should be in someone’s list. “There is a lot of it, I will encourage everyone to come and experience it, so that the festival is so deep and layered to achieve a perspective on it. In addition, I suspect that any other art festival has been hosted anywhere in the world, on such a scale in shopping mall.”
This one type of art festival is supported in partnership with beneficial initiatives and virtuous retail. Sumi says that the purpose of WAC is to encourage students artists to show their work and bring the community together, “It is also an eye opening for the public and other similar -ideology souls that are to demonstrate such creativity.”
“Students are encouraged when more people look at their work and it also gives rise to more cooperation that can benefit the community,” she says.
In addition to painting, installation, photographs and sculptures, WAC will include a puppet show, Whitefield Literary Society, literary events, The Basment Art Project Shoksing Works such as Bangalore University students will be worked and interactive events such as Bangalore University will be worked and interactive events such as coffee brooing and hairstyle workshops.
