Liam Payne, who died aged 31 on Wednesday, October 16, was in Argentina to attend a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan. However, he was “forced” to remain in the country before his untimely death. His stay in the country was extended after his US visa application was reportedly rejected due to some complications.

Liam Payne’s visa complications
After encountering some visa complications, the singer wanted to renew his “extraordinary visa” in Buenos Aires with plans to visit his girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Florida. Reportedly, Liam’s past substance abuse situations hindered the approval of his visa and left him stranded in Argentina.
Even though Bedroom Floor had talked about going to rehab and said he was sober before he died, sources suggested that his visa was likely to be approved just two days after falling from the hotel balcony. Close friends noted that he had timed his visit to the embassy to coincide with Horan’s concert.
A source told Mail Online, “One question on the form asks, ‘Have you ever abused alcohol or drugs?’ Liam’s problems with drugs and alcohol are well documented. It is widely known that That he went to rehab in America, so he had to tick the box, and because of that, he had to undergo medical tests. He had to be examined by a doctor and a psychiatrist.” He added, “All of this took time. So Liam was forced to stay in Buenos Aires longer than he planned.”
Liam’s O-1 visa is for individuals with extraordinary abilities, including artists, athletes, and others who have achieved extraordinary success.

Liam’s eligibility for visa
Some friends assured me that Liam had passed the medical and psychological conditions to get the green light for a visa. At the time of the bureaucratic investigation, the singer maintained “100 percent sobriety” with a scheduled meeting at the embassy on Thursday to retrieve his visa. An unnamed friend said she had “no idea” he could do “anything stupid” after their conversation.
The forensic report revealed that Liam suffered 25 injuries after falling from the third-floor balcony. Experts reported that cranioencephalic injuries due to external and internal bleeding in the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs were sufficient to cause his death.
